It was just like the first movie, a very well-made sequel in my opinion. But the one thing that made me think it was a bad movie was that it left you hanging way too much. You don't know what happens to Jack aka Johnny Depp, you don't know what happens to that old first mate guy and why he came back since he was supposed to die in the first one, and all sorts of other things are left hanging that should have been answered by this point. If they had answered some questions and left just a few hanging it would have been a much better movie.

A fun romp of a movie especially if you like Johnny Depp. Great effects. The story is not strong, but everyone knows they were filming a third one during the second so the end has to leave you hanging. I found the sound to be lacking and you have to listen closely for some of the accents.

Perfect!...well not perfect, but considering I JUST saw Pirates 1 yesterday on DVD, I can say that 2 is definitely better...the characters and stunts are better....and Depp gives a better performance in 2 despite having what appears to be less lines.

I thought it was as good or better than the first, and I LOVED the first. Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are such great eye candy to begin with (yes, I'm a girl) and the 3-way sword fight on the broken water wheel was sheer genius. I'd see it again.

I loved Johnny Depp but I thought the movie was a bit creepy. Not as clever as the first. I was okay with the skeletons in the Black Pearl but those underwater thingies were just gross.

I personally didn't like it-- I don't think the characters were as well-structured as in the first one and the layout of the plot seemed kind of... piecey? Like three guys just sat around and said "Hey! This, this and this would be cool lets just chuck it together and make a film!" and just filled in the gaps between with whatever they could.
Definitely nowhere near as good as the first one... but sequels usually aren't, eh?

I just saw it last Friday and I really liked it. Some people say that it is too long, but I didn't think so. The story was great and the special effects are fabulous. I really recommend it but not unless you have seen the first one.

I was really disappointed in part 2. I loved the first one, the story was great, it was funny. The second one really let me down. It seems like it left people more confused than anything.

Ive just seen the film & it was brilliant, Enjoyed the movie and would watch it again. Cant wait for the 3rd one now!!
