Yes, it is hurricane season, and yes you're right about the Chicken Little environmentalist crowd. However, there's quite a bit more of hurricane season to go, so don't count them out yet. And, there's always the fact that their crowd doesn't take lack of hurricanes as a credible counterpoint to their rhetoric. They just wait for the disaster to occur and then engage in "we told you so"-ing. At any rate, I think we've got bigger issues to be concerned about right now, given the fact that we're teetering on the brink of global armed conflict.

Actually, the most active time in hurricane season starts sometime in August. Hurricane season is officially over on November 30th. Last year, Katrina was at the end of August, and the year previous, 2004, hurricanes Charley, Frances, Jeanne, and Ivan(?) were all between August 13th and the end of September. Just give it a few weeks ;)

Actually, Luv is right. We won't know if we're actually entering the early stages of global warming for a few years yet. All we can do is try to take care of the earth as best we can, and hope for the best.

You're right. We need another Katrina and more death and destruction to prove it. Good point. I guess ignoring all the other signs would also make sense.
