Obviously not. It drives me nuts when somebody wants advice, but can't even present their question clearly. Good point.

I just can't understand how people who have such poor communication skills even know how to operate a computer, set up a yahoo account, and ask the questions they do. It scares the heck out of me. However, I do believe that we must be careful what we ask for - if we ask for more censorship, it will take something away from all of us eventually.
It seems to me that YA is "monitored" mostly by the report abuse option. The problem with that is some users report things that are not generally offensive just because they can. I would like to see more merit to what's reportable. Additionally, if YA made classification more regulated, we would not only weed out many of the illiterate and ignorant posters (because they obviously can't categorize correctly,) but potentially offensive questions could be placed in categories that potentially offended users would not have to browse through.

Possibly this site is monitored, as for moderating, I think the people who come here do that. As for grammar, etc, there's not a lot that can be done, we can't very well tell them that they can't ask, or answer a question just because they're not as literate as others on the web. That's the great thing about the web, everybody who can, can use it.
As for sexual preferences, I don't know that it distracts, but, it doesn't hurt too much.
As for appropriateness, who's going to decide what is, or isn't, appropriate? That is still called censorship where I come from. Yes, it's not good to see people trolling for sex, or whatever, but, it happens, it's pretty much a case of caveat emptor. (Or something equal.)

Yes the site is both monitored and moderated. To tell the truth though, with the proliferation of trolls, racists, and spammers, the grammar and spelling issues are not going to receive a whole lot of attention. Sexual preferences in teaching would seem to be miscategorized, RAMO them.
