i hope the question is clear. i am looking for a system where by i could get an alert whenever a website in my favourites list is updated

If the site has and XML or RSS button, click it, then add the feed to your favorite aggregator. Like Netvibes.com.
If it doesn't have a feed, maybe you can make one at Ponyfish.com?

Many browsers have a 'subscribe' button, to alert you when a page changes.

iv never heard of that but it sounds like a great idea... i would think each website would have to implentment into their system

if u have favorites click on that hten click on add 2 favorites.easy as that.
