The cartilage hurt a bit. It also takes forever to heal. 4 months after I had it pierced it would still be sore. And, I was constantly hitting it with my hair brush. The eyebrow didn't hurt at all and it was over alot quicker than the cartilage.

To answer your first question, it does hurt, but only very briefly. If you've ever had your ear lobe pierced, it feels much the same way, except instead of "pressure and a little pinch that lasts a millisecond" (the pressure is the needle pressing against your skin, and the pinch is when it actually breaks the outer layer of skin. You do not feel it passing through), it's "a little pinch that lasts maybe three milliseconds" (there is no pressure since the cartiliage is firm, and there's nothing squishy to condense. The pinch will last a little longer since it must break through the skin and the cartiliage, but once that's done, you won't feel it pass through either). The pain itself will last no more than an entire second. The pain is minimal (I have a very low tolerance for pain, and am almost brought to tears by merely stubbing my toe, however, to show you how painless it is, I've had a total of 8 piercings, ranging from the time I was 4, to two months ago [I'm almost 30]).
The main pain from a cartiliage piercing comes from the healing process. The first day or two, it'll be sore, but is nothing worse than maybe a similiar soreness from a bugbite. The real pain comes when when it is bumped, snagged, or otherwise moved when it's not wet and cleaned, because of the crust that builds up around it, and the normal scarring within the piercing, is aggrivated upon the CBR's (captured ball ring's) movement, and it'll swell up some and be irritated for a while when that happens. It'll also hurt if it gets snagged while you're brushing/combing your hair (and it's part of Murphy's law, that it will get snagged ^_~... it's bound to happen), and while sleeping (sleeping with your hand on your ear, but with your fingers spread around the actual piercing works for me, however, sleeping on your other side or using a donut/travel pillow might work just as well for you).
Personally, I can't answer the second question, although I doubt it'd hurt any more than a lobal piercing.

The carilage of the ear does not hurt to get it pierced. Its tender after you are done though. For instance if you put a towel around your head it's sore. But once it heals it's great. I can leave mine out for months and put it right back in. The only other thing I have had pierced is my nose. So I can't answer the eyebrow question!

The cartilage, in my opinion, doesn't hurt quite as bad as the lobe (which doesn't hurt too bad) I've had both of my eyebrows pierced. The clamp didn't feel good, but the piercing didn't hurt.

The cartilage piercings do hurt a little...but in my case most of the pain was just in the healing process.

cartilege does hurt, but if you're anticipating the pain it only makes it worse. it's bearable, and it only lasts for a second or two. after that it's just hot and stuff. it's sore for a while after that, but not painful if you know what i mean. and for me, eyebrow didn't hurt very much, but i had a couple of friends who it hurt.
