however...at 40 I'm told we can fudge the weight up a bit it just makes our blood pressure rise

You need to get a body fat test. The charts for weight, based on height are way off. I'm 6'4" as well, and I weigh right at 200. I'm quite slim. Hell almost bony, but according to some of those idiot charts I (we) should weight 175! I'm look like a famine victim! There are too many variables: bone structure and body composition, ie: muscle weighs more than fat, to use a rule of thumb.
I've had all the tests, calipers, electric testing, under water weight test, etc. Basically I look in the mirror and see if I'm satisfied with how I look. I pay attention to how my cloths fit. If my jeans are tight; maybe I need to work out more and eat less. If there starting to hang off me; then I better order a pizza. :^)

My boyfriend is 6'4. He weighs 250 lbs. and has a normal average frame and build. I even encourage him to gain weight cause he looks thin to me!
