What/who initiated the Big Bang?

Question

I'm not religious, but if the Big Bang did take place, something had to initiate it... what was that? I heard it was gravity and material got dense... etc., but what initiated the whole process?

Some people say that the Big Bang was just the most recent Bang--that dense material caused a cosmic explosion that hurled matter in all directions, then gradually went back together and started all over, and that this has been happening for all eternity. I don't know which is harder to comprehend--that the universe had a definite beginning, or that it didn't!

Big Bang theory is a Creation theory of the structure of the Universe. which stemmed from Einsteins"s solution of Field Equation.
There are many questions about the theory which do require some answers.
The Biblical Creation account does refer to a wirlpool which is more like a twist rather than a radial expansion from a single point structure.It is a matter of preference how one views it.
Since I was not present at the time of Creation I cannot judge how creation actually took place.
However science is trying hard to Unravel our Creator's mystories of the Universe.

The Biblical account of Creation was as such that anyone in past history or present would be able on non scientific details understand that there was a Creation of the Universe.
There fore if there was a creation them it must comprise of a finite system with definite boundaries.Perhaps this is where Einstein got his idea from.

The exact nature of the "Big Bang" is not exactly clear and I
personally have some problem with the initiator being a point
of infinite smallness and infinite energy..
Things do appear to have begun at some central point with rapid
expansion to the current size which happens to be expanding with
increasing rapidity as distances weaken the gravity holding things together...No one knows exactly how or why things got started nor
do we know if this was the first time...

Some physicists say that it was the result of the previous universe collapsing/imploding upon itself all the way down to a single point, then suddenly exploding again, as a continuing cycle going on forever. But if that's true, then how did the very FIRST cycle begin? Well, as it says in quite a few ancient doctrines (this particular one coming from the bible) God said, "Let there be light", then the Big Bang occured! How God did this will forever remain a secret with the Creator.

What I know is that:The entire universe was like a compressed ball and the Big bang ocurred due to some chemical reactions that took place which made the system unstable and thus expanded into vastness of the universe.....That's the story and nobody has any proof about this so it's upon u to believe it or not.....

to be specific my dear it is not yet certain whether there was actually a big bang. Einstein who did a lot of work in this direction gave the theory of general relativity which predicted that all theories would break down at singularity(big bang) which included his own theory and hence this confusion about origin of universe

We do not know yet. Perhaps it was exploding and imploding for ever. But we do not have to invent God every time we do not know something. Have patience, science has not finished yet. We have left something for you to discover also.

That is the difference between religion, that claims to know everything and science which admits it knows very little and keeps learning. One condemns you to hell and worse if you do not believe them while the other gives you the Nobel prize if you prove them wrong
