Correct, radio is possible. Inside a ship there's air, so you can talk.

By the way, in reality you couldn't hear another ship explode either, like in the movies.

Walkie talkies don't use proper sound waves when transmitting back and forth between space suits. They use radio waves which is part of the electomagnetic spectrum, like visible light or infrared. The EM spectrum doesn't need air to travel.

Seems like this question answered sufficiently. There is a scene in the movie 2001 where Dave has to cross over from the shuttle without his helmet through space into the mothership. When he closes the door on the main hatch and it pressurizes, they realistically brought in sound as more air filled the room.

u r right if there's no air there isn't sound and that means how loud u scream nobody s gonna hear u...But my frnd it doesn't mean that u cannot speak to someone using wirless media....Think how do u talk to ur buddy over telephone...Actually astronauts use short waves that do not need medium for travel and the walkie talkie converts these waves to sound wave frequency so that u can hear it.

astronauts talk using radios and by the way there is air in the space shuttle, so they can easily communicate by talking. And during a space walk they use radios

Yes that's right.Sound is made from the vibrations of air molecules, tiny particles in the air, from the source to your ear. So,without air as the medium, the sound will never reach your ears.
As for how astronauts talk to one another,I think they use tiny microphones in thier helmet =)

True.

"In space, no one can hear you scream."

However, inside their space suits and inside the spacecraft there is air, so sound will travel there. Now, from one spacecraft to another or from a spacecraft to Earth over an expanse of space, they use radios which produce waves that travel as light (non-visible light, but light nonetheless). We know that light CAN travel through a vacuum.

the walky talkies u say are called mics i guess.so, these mics change sound into an electric signal which reaches the other people by there mics and listen the sounds

sound needs a medium to travel in like air or water therefore no air no sound astronauts use radios they have air in their helmets to make the sounds with

Yes, there are no sounds in space, because without air (or water, or another matter) there is no sound.

Radio waves, however, can travel through vacuum (just like light and heat can).
