If you get disposibles get the thicker ones the thin ones are too hard to cup onto your finger to apply some solution before insertion. If you are a female that wears make up put them in before doing your eye makeup. I just tried the new hydra ones and they are the best keeping your eyes from drying out. Last but not least if your eyes dry out try yawning it makes your eyes water naturally the rewetting drops tend to make your lens cloudy.

Yes believe me that though when you first try them it is impossible to get them in and you just keep shutting your eyes when the consultant tries to put one on your eye, IT DOES GET EASY. I could take 30 minutes just to get them in in the morning at first now its 10 seconds at most.

The other thing I'd say is stick ridgidly to the cleaning and wear advice your consultant gives so as not to irritate your eyes or cause any more serious problems (infections and the like)

Finally, have the regular check-ups to ensure everything is OK. I had a problem with developing vascularisation of the cornia years ago. If it had not been picked up my sight could have been perminantly damaged. As it was it was spotted at a checkup, I was told to leave the lens out for 3 months and then I was switched to higher water content versions and the problem has never recurred.

Don't worry about things though. Contacts are great.

I have had them for over 15 years and I love them. My advice...if you can get the one a day disposables....they are great. You don't have to toss them every day. I learned about this via an article in the New York Times. I have kept them for three+ days at a time. What ever kind you have make sure you use the solution to clean off every night and kept you hands clean when putting them in! Good luck!

I have worn contact lenses for YEARS. Probably a lot more years than you've even been alive. I see so much better with them and I'm so glad I got them. Remember to wash your hands really well before handling them and to clean and care for your lenses properly. Other than that....enjoy them. They're great!

Be very careful cleaning them and rinsing them, unless you are using disposables. My daughter thought she had rinsed hers, but she used the wrong solution and ended up in the hospital. She had burned the outer cells on her eyes, so had to have patches put on her eyes for three days. The pain was incredible, and I was afraid she was going to end up blind. Also, take them out at night. I lost a couple - one crept up under my eyelid and the other ended up under my pillow. It's not all doom and gloom, they're great.

well that contacts can be lost very fast. so when you feel like something you do will result in you loosing them, take them out first. take them out before you go to bed either if they say you can keep them in all night, they will start to make your eye itch after a while.

and good luck, and you should be glad to have them.

If you can afford the continued expense -
And your eyes can tolerate the continued invasion -
Go for it ---
You'll know when it's time to return to lenses (glasses)

I got them when I was 14...13 years ago...and it was hard at first to get them out...and I would freak out...but I learned to look away and you have to pinch them a bit to get them out...your eye won't break. :)

Make sure you clean them right!

Make sure you have back up glasses. :)

Good luck and enjoy!
