You are all right up to a point. Sex predates humans. It is a natural instinct of all living beings. And Adam and Eve were the first humans to engage in sex. But God came up with the idea. And the apple was not sex. God told Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28 to be fruiltful and multiply, and replenish the earth. That was accomplished through sex. The incident with the apple was two chapters later and it is not stated as an apple it is only said to be fruit.

Ah, sex vs. reproduction of say reptiles? Well, God came up with the idea and it evolved with his human creations as it was the best method to ensure a bond with a man and a woman who could raise an intelligent child, only one at a time and very incapable for a long time, dependent on its parents for survival and the survival of both of their genetic material. Reptiles for example are born knowing everything they will ever know, it is preprogrammed, not even a baby, but a young reptile. Egg laying, just outside of water, but encapsulated in a watery sac is fine for them, why would they need sex?

The Lord God Creator came up with the idea of sex. Third day of creation (some of the plants need male and female to reproduce).

I believe the the best answer to your question is The Red Queen Theory. This is described by Matt Ridley in his book about the question of Why do we have sex?
Ridley compares other forms of reproduction with sex and describes a theory as to why sex seems to dominate.

Sex, although requires high amounts of energy, it has become the most efficient way for complex lifeforms to pass on genetic material. The process became fashionable millions of years ago as multi-cellular organisms became more and more abundant. Before reptiles and mammals ever existed.

I don't think it was an idea rather than an instinct. The act of sex and/or procreation is instinctively known to all animals. If they didn't have it the animal/race would die off.
have a nice day.

Adam had a pet sheep, and Eve liked snakes.
I think you can figure out the rest.

there is no "idea of sex". it's always been there before even "ideas" were invented. Now, orgasms, there's a great idea!

adam and eve. they were the first to procreate and we are "the children". the desire to have sex and have babies are already in our minds, and it's only natural to do so.
