Millions marched in London to try to stop our Government from going to war in Iraq. Blair knew that the majority of the population were against it, but competely ignored the wishes of his people and went his own sweet way. I could see that the "war" would go on for years with the religious split there, but obviously Blair was too short sighted. He just forced out the members of his government who could see the pitfalls. Now he is again trotting at the heals of Bush (an idiot who only got the job because of who Daddy was).

Why can't we do what the swiss do. They have a reforendum on all important issues. I know this wouldn't be easy to set up, but with the technology we have today there must be a way.

Yeah, modern democracy sucks. The only thing you can do is to vote on a small party, or run on the elections as an independent candidate.

dont think it was millions marching in London , bit of an exaggeration that , as for doing what the Swiss do fat lot of bugger all historically..
personally dont think we should have gone to war in Iraq because of the financial cost and the cost in terms of the lives of our soldiers .

Why are you exaggerating? "Millions" did not march in London. Stop Lying.
Bush did not get the job as President because who his daddy was. This is just a ridiculous and immature attitude.

PLUS A LOT of laws have to go through the House of Lords, and if the Lords don't approve it gets thrown out. That's not democracy, surely!!

i was one of the many that marched.....

its a sign of our times the political choices that are available at the moment.

not quite left, not quite right...... very much a bit of both sides and you never no when the choice on a particular issue is going to go to the far right or the other way round.

referendum option is smart and certainly more democratic

Zelaya develop into democratically elected with suggestions from the folk, and he's being run over with suggestions from the protection rigidity as many times occurs in Latin u . s . of america and South u . s . of america. the protection rigidity forces many times attempt to rigidity themselves into administration by violent coups, and as a Democratic united states of america, we oppose that. maximum different Latin American countries oppose it besides and help Zelaya, the President chosen with suggestions from the voters.

the brits owe the u.s. if not for us, hitler would have wiped england off the face of the earth. they fought tough as nails and hung in there like no other (unlike the french) and americans admired them for that though we were sending them ammo and other implements of war to help them out without the american people knowing it. britain understands the threat of war and is resolved to not relive the crimes of neville chamberlin. people want to have a "dialogue" and "diplomacy" with crazy killers who want to kill every single non-islam in the world.

why dont you get that????????

they dont care, they dont want to talk, they dont want diplomacy, they dont want a dialogue....THEY WANT TO KILL YOU.

Britain is pretty socialist country. bush got the job because my stupid cat would have been a better president than that sickening john kerry. he is a frenchie loving liberal flip-flopper who voted for himself before he voted against himself and a traitor and proven liar to his country.

Well, the majority re-elected him...

If you feel so strongly about it, and I can't blame you, campaign actively for a party that is against the war.

That is democracy.

By the way, did you vote?
