A huge monument, the colossus of Abu Simbel was cut in blocks and moved away. Maybe it is the name you are looking for.

I am going to hazard a guess here--are you looking for the lost city of Atlantis?
I don't think most people associate it with Egypt, but the story of Atlantis itself is a myth.
