I have bought numerous pillows but cannot find a comfortable one. I tried to buy one from a hotel before but they wouldn't sell it, it didn't have a label so I wasn't able to try to find one like it but it seemed to be medium firmness.

Yours is a very subjective question. There is no definitive answer. In the end, the pillow that feels the best to you is the best pillow in the world. Keep searching, and you will eventually find the right one. It sounds like you have a good idea as to what it might be like.

Good luck with your search.

There isn't one best pillow, as each person has their own likes and dislikes. I love a down pillow, not a firm down, but one that lets my head sink into it. I love the way down (not feathers, they poke) cuddles the head and neck.

I suggest you go to a department store such as Mervyns (they have nice pillows and I've bought many there) and check out different pillows. Don't buy the cheapest pillows, as they only last a year, then get very weird looking. Figure on at least $15 a pillow if it's synthetic. A good quality down pillow will run between $40 and $80.

A department store will have assorted pillows in different softness levels, and you can poke and prod and even put your head on one and see how it feels. Pillows only last 2-3 years, then need replaced.
