I wrote a song but I don't know what to do with it, I wrote it for a girl before we started dating, beautiful love song, but I don't know what to do with it, if possible I would like to sell the lyrics, but I would even give it away just to get it out there. please, btw it is a country song, I want to get it to a country singer who would be least likely to sing a love song so that in the case of them accepting it, it would get played atleast once... please tell me if it is possible to sell/give this song to a singer and if so, how to do it.

ADVICE: Learn to WRITE first.

Alohas
You start here by getting a copyright on the song before you do anything...Start here:
Don't Give away your rights to your works..

After you have a copyright then you have something you can sell the rights to.. Songs are normally sold or leased out for a fixed period of time for artists to sing and a percentage of all sales normally goes to the writer as well. 3 to 7 percent of the retail price of the song if it is cut and sold on recordings is standard although a a lot of writers get screwed by producers for less if they let them get away with it..
Also Always retain final rights to your copyright ,, in other words a singer may not transfer his or her rights to someone else only you may do that.
So if they don't sing it or Sell it you can find someone else who will.

Good luck and God Bless

Music is all over the place in all of the noises we listen daily. It's the Cosmic Dance. Here's a think well tune for in these days. Do seem it up. It's known as "Love Is Blind" through Annie Lennox.
