There are almost always options and choices for every situation. You just have to find them... but when it is something you can truly do nothing about then it is out of your control and worrying about it will change nothing.

Breathe deeply and try and let it go. What you are describing is a massively stressful occurrence.

Theory goes that you should concentrate on trying to change things within your circle of influence, not your circle of concern. The more you can change by influencing, the greater your influence will go. And the less your stress is!

What it means is, try and change things that you can and don't get sidetracked buy things you can't change. Sounds easy, but it's not - needs practice.

Accept it and work through all the emotions and thoughts that go along with it - through meditation and self-searching.

Such events are always very good to learn and understand yourself and the reality of life - the laws of life.

So it is not good to look for disctraction - one should accept the challenge of being confronted with that.

If there is nothing you can do about it, stop worrying. I know it´s easy to say but every time you realize you´re worrying about that think to yourself "Stop it, I can´t do anything so stop it". It also depends on what it worries you but if you can´t get a solution then live with it. It´s all you can do.

PRAY! and tell yourself that God doesn't give us more than we can handle. Even when things are the darkest. I used to think that was the nuttiest answer that people would give me, but in my own life experiences, the phrase; "Let go and Let God" really works.

I find something else to do. If I have no control over a situation, or over myself in a situation, I try to get out of it, reasonably, of course (retreat, no evacuation under fire). If it makes me really angry, I find someplace to vent it out (gym does nicely)...
