I followed the directions on the Nair bottle but my legs are really red and burn and itch like hell. What can I do to make the burning stop? Please help, this is reducing me to tears.

Yes, I did a spot test and everything was fine then. That's why I went ahead and did it on all my legs.

Lotion may burn more.

Something like Vaseline or aloe ( best ) would be best. Make sure, aloe has no alcohol in it.

Benedryl may help too. If it doesn't get better soon, you may want to go to the doctor. I didn't, but it burned like H*** for several days. I think I peeled too.

Bad stuff. I think it should have been taken off the market years ago. ( like 20 ) But apparently some people can get by with using it.

Happened to me too. Years ago.

I use nads or Remington epitalator now. Got some bad blades once, got cut too much, won't shave now at all.

Good luck

Nair is just nasty. I tried it once and it burned like hell! To top it off, that stuff stinks! This might sound dumb, but take a milk bath. Just soak up in a mild bath with milk added in. Something in the milk soothes skin. It works for me anyways. I hope you find some relief.

Nair used to eat my legs up, whenever I would rinse it off it looked like some creature had just bitten holes all over my legs.

I tried using Veet not too long ago, and it works fantastically. It's not as harsh as Nair.

Veet is better. Next time, get the kind for sensitive skin, and don't leave it on so long. Five minutes works for me. You've probably burnt your skin. Treat like you would a sunburn. Aloe vera. Cocoa butter lotion. Lots of water. And time. Take a pain reliever. You could also try that spray on stuff you buy at the drug store that numbs your skin after a sunburn.

You could try milk compresses - it's very good for sunburn. Cool water or aloe would help ease the pain. Also, take some aspirin or Tylenol to help reduce the pain.

Also hydrocortisone cream helps reduce irritations of all kinds. I'm not sure I would put vaseline on it.

I used Nair also (years ago) and had the same results. Stop using it & apply lotion to sooth them! You do not have to see
a dermatologist immediately unless it blisters or the pain continues!!

That's what it did to me too... I am allergic to a lot of things and I have sensitive skin so I think it was just too harsh for my skin. It should go away in a couple of days. Run them under cool water. It will take some of the heat out.

Get some Gold Bond medicated lotion. It should take care of that. Your skin can't take Nair. Leave it alone.
