but i thought they called him "Uncle"!

He wasn't. He was Danny's best friend from way back in school, who came in & helped him out when Danny's wife, Pam died. Just so there isn't any question later, though, Jesse was Pam's (dead wife's) brother, who also came into their lives in a time of need. Also,(to add to your addition) the girls called him 'uncle Joey' because he was always so close to the family, even before Pam died. Joey was like a brother to Danny, just not biologically.

Episode one, Danny asks joey his childhood friend to move in with him and help him take care of the girls while Joey is looking for work as a comedian in the area. Jesse shows up as the younger brother n law/ exterminator that wants to pitch in. Since he is Uncle Jesse, Joey become Uncle Joey.

He's not him and Danny Tanner are best friends. He just moved in when Danny's wife died to help take care of the girls.

Joey was just Danny's (the dad) close friend that moved in after the mom (pam) died. Jessie was actually Pam's sister, so he was the girls' uncle.

He's just a family friend. They just call him "uncle"...who knows. My dad has a long time friend that we always called Uncle...who knows why, maybe they are around so much it's like thery are part of the family.

what's humorous is i'm watching finished homestead top now. i think of he has super writers, and a feeling of humor. i'm uncertain if that makes him humorous in keeping with say, yet he does get fairly some laughs.
