Going to college is a good start. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of stupid people at university, but most of them make some effort to at least appear intelligent, and the pressure to do so yourself will push you along.
Read like a beast, finish the newspaper every day, and turn your TV to Public Broadcasting and break off the knob.

College is a good suggestion. If that's not an option, how about taking a course in something that interests you? Or maybe a course in something that you feel would broaden your interests? You'd meet people who are interested in the same things. Also, just use common sense: if you want to run into some smart people, you're probably better off looking in a library than in a bar, right? Doesn't mean smart people don't go to bars, but you see what I'm saying. You could make small changes that would put you in contact with the type of people you're hoping to meet.
Also, do a lot of listening. Ask questions: people are flattered and like to tell about things they know. Don't feel you have to try to "sound smart." Be like a sponge and just soak things up at first.

There's a well known saying that roughly means. Listen carefully and don't speak.
It's to do with fools and ends "Than to open your mouth, and remove all doubt."
I'm sure someone will know it.
It 's true though. Listen to others without making any comment, until you feel really confident to do so.
This has two purposes. The first is to learn. Then second is more subtle. When others see you listening to them, they attach a certain amount of intelligence to that.
How many quiet people do you think are intelligent?
You'll learn a lot quicker that way.

It depends on what age you are. If you're in High School then I suggest applying for upper level courses, and then you'll be surrounded by people with a higher intelligence, believe me.
If you're in college, then you may need to associate yourself at the library more, or find areas where more of the smarter 'clicks' hang out.
And if you're out of college, then I really don't know what to tell you.

Do not judge yourself so severely. If you can identify that there are other people smarter, then you are smart in some way. We must learn that we cannot be smart in all actions, but we have, each one, our special path in this world. We must discover the best way and let competition aside.

Apart of knowledge and experience, social skills play a huge role in important achievement. Actually I guess it´s either you have these skills already, or ... or there is just lots to work on!

"not user-friendly paintings beats expertise." a not user-friendly worker might fail, yet it quite is his possibility to point up greater and be greater effective. a experienced guy or woman will stay on the comparable point and could not advance because of the fact he hasn't experienced defeat.

You study and learn from them, that's how! Pretty soon, you'd be as smart, if not smarter.

Don't talk a lot. Many smart people know that the less they say is better.
