Christian songs

That's my flavor!!! I grew up on Christian music. My first piano lessons came from the Broadman Hynmal book. My teacher would tear out pages and make us write the treble and bass notes. I went from page (1) to the last page of the book - learning how to play hymns, anthems, spiritiuals - all phases. As I grew up, I learned gospel and beats. The art of "squalling" and hitting high notes and holding them seemed to come so natural. Then I learned how to control virbrato, when to use squalling, and how to really MINISTER to people. Now, my singing is toned and with purpose. I love the praise and worship folks - too numerous to name - but Martha Minuzzi is one of them, along with Sandi Patti, CeCe Winans, and many others. I have my own style - and it is a mixture of all the music genres I love including jazz, blues, gospel, pop, r&b. I still enjoy the 'choirs" such as Hezekiah Walker and others like Kirk Franklin, but when I listen to Christian music - I still want GOD to be in the mix - I want Him to be happy with my voice, I want my praises to lift Him up and to show Him love back. Thanks for asking this question. I love singing. It is who I am and was meant to be. It was what I was created for. It is my anointing.

Singing is good, I like singing all sorts. When in Church though I like singing the rousing hymns with lots of gusto! I prefer the more traditional hymns myself. If you're able to sing you may as well do it as well as you can and enjoy it, hopefully God likes my singing!

I like to sing the descants too where I know them too especially at Christmas!
