I was wearing a jean jacket with the caption "Impeach Nixon", wonder where that jacket is now as I see it is again needed. Also I spent a good part of time waiting for my wicked step-mother to sober up or get drunk, whatever would make her happy...which was nothing. Also waited for my dad to divorce the goofy b*#+h so we could have some peace in the family....Hey, thanks for the memories, gives me something to talk to my therapist about tomorrow. Don't take me too seriously though, am pretty well adjusted now and my therapist is rich, rich, rich. Peace.

I was a young mother taking care of my son and daughter. It was a particularly hot summer that year in northeast PA. We planned a vacation to South Carolina that year. I remember taking the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to Delaware and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on the way down. Ah, to be young again. Why does this date come to mind? Looking back, I guess it was a better time except for the Viet Nam war.

My first child was born July 28th. After 3 days in an Army hospital I was able to take him home August 1st.
My husband had to go to Viet Nam and we were waiting for that to come about.
I raised our son the first year waiting in terror for his Father to come home.

I was 18, had a two bedrrom apartmant in our downtown area, rent was 210 dollars a month. I had a 1968 Datsun 1600 two seat sports car, and worked at a dead end job as a machine operator.

i was not born but I bet my parents were getting high and listening to led Zeppelin in my dad's 68 camaro (which he still has and has now given to me to restore)
