If you are sure you want to get it done DO YOUR RESEARCH. Make sure you are using a reputable and competent piercer. Piercing is trendy at the moment and I've noticed shops popping up all over the place so I think it's super-important to ensure the person who does it knows what they are doing and has a good track record.
I am sure most of your questions/concerns could/should be answered by the person to do the piercing as they would be the best person to answer.
Hope this helps.

If you're that scared, then wait awhile. Get a clip on for now. It's just a trend anyway. To be honest, I live in Massachusetts, and that's already getting kinda old here.
Perhaps, follow a less frightening trend, or even better, start your own fashion.
Besides, do you really want to upset your dad about something like that? It may be best to pick and choose those battles. But, I don't know you or your dad, so that's really just a general piece of common sense...
Best wishes.

My sister got it done also. She was about 20 lbs. underwieght. When she got it done it beld SOOOOO MUCH!!! Like her friend's care was covered with her blood. i don't really know how much it hurt, because it was her, not me. She has also had alot of problems with it when having babies. It had gotten in the way and she took it out, but then it was infected or something so they couldn't do a seasection even though they needed to. So her son ended up with so many terrible deaseases and she almost died giving birth because they were suppose to do a seasection and they did a natural birth instead.

Are you aware that getting your belly button pierced will only call attention to the fact that you are so underweight? If you are really concerned about that, then you might want to steer clear of a belly button ring, and try to think of other accessories that would play-up other features.

I got mine pierced, and it still is. They ended up numbing mine and I really didn't feel much. People kept telling me it was like elbow skin. Pinch your elbow skin. There's not much nerves ending there and it really doesn't hurt. I, however, experienced an infection afterward... scratch that, infection after infection, to this very day. My boyfriend keeps telling me to just take it out. I went to my doctor to get a cream for it and he said that as soon as girls get their belly button's pierced that they should send them directly to their doctors because most girls do get infections. He told me it was just an ideal location for bacteria to want to live.
So, getting it done, no pain, infection, that can be painful. Bending over after getting it done was a nightmare too. And you REALLY should look into gaining weight first.

Don't get your belly button pierced. It's not worth it if you're scared and also, it does matter if your Dad doesn't want you to. Wait awhile and think about things!

prepare urself for some piercing pain. i advise u take some antibiotics after, then some pain meds (mefenamic acid can do). it will swell and get all red at first but it will be ok in 2 weeks. just keep the area clean at all times to prevent infection.

You know they have magnetic navel jewelry, don't you? My piercing never healed. Never. So its magnetic for me. I took out the jewelry and it doesn't hurt anymore after like, 4 years.

i haven't got mine done, but i just have a suggestion.. you need to gain weight or else it will be sore forever, my friend still has hers infected and it's so sore after three months after she got it done, she's pretty skinny. i think you need to get some fat on you before you think about it again. usually only "outies" get it done, less pain.
