i have never work before this is my first time working. so i dont know what to say when people come and ask me a question. i mean in polit way how do i tell them to sit down wait and some think like that. i need help plz.

If the guest is expected at a particular time say "please have a seat in the reception area (gesture where that is) and (so and so) will be with you momentarily"
If the guest is unexpected say "please have a seat while I try to locate (so and so for you) that gets them out of your face while you place the call. And then be sure to give the visitor the message as to how long the wait will be or if the the person is unavailable at the time. Ask them if they would like to leave a message if the person can't see them.

Sounds like you already know. Be polite and a ask them to be seated, see if there is anything they need while they are waiting.

Sir or ma-am I really am not the person to answer that question however if you'll please have a seat I will see to it that we get that question answered for you. Polite and direct do not be afraid to admit you don't know something, reassure the customer that you will find the answer for them. Then go consult with your colleagues and get them that answer.

Well what I usually do is tell them, "I do not have the answer to your question at the moment, but please take a seat while I look for the answer or find someone who can answer your question for you?"
Lead or show them the resting or waiting area and then proceed to find someone to help you or look for the answer yourself if you know where to find it.

the main thing is to have confidence, make them think you know what's going on, then ask, very politely, that they take a seat and someone will be with them shortly.

So you are a receptionist. The easiers way for you to go is to know how to say please can i help you., you are welcome, smile gently, thank you and good bye. Also smile to everyone who enters either with a good or bad question.
