Whenever I upload pics my browser freezes and when I open up taskmgr I see that EXPLORER.EXE is at 100%. The only way to make it normal again is to reboot. This only happens when I open a picture file and when I upload pictures. Any idea on how to fix this, as it is VERY annoying!

hi
if you are not sure you have virus, check this link.
Symantec can scan your computer online.
so you can undrestand you have any viruses or not.

Try the steps below which could resolve the issue.

1. Click Start, Run
2. Type MSCONFIG
3. Click OK
4. Click STARTUP tab
5. Uncheck all the programs except RECGUARD, KBD, PCH Button, PS2, HPSYSDRV, HKCMD, RUNDLL32.dll, ccRegVfy, ccApp, NAV or NAVAP32, Item related to the name of your Internet Service Provider and the Anti-Virus Software installed. (The items listed are system specific and you may not find all the entries listed above. Please ignore the items which are not listed in the startup list and proceed further).
6. Click OK
7. Restart the system
8. After completing these steps, Windows will run using Selective Startup. A small reminder may appear when Windows restarts. Select don’t show this dialog again and click OK to prevent the reminder from re-appearing every time you restart the computer (IMPORTANT, DON'T IGNORE THIS STEP).
You can increase your windows speed by deleting extra files and folders from your windows desktop which help to load windows faster.

How much RAM do you have on your computer? What type of modem are you using? How big is the picture that you are loading? All of these factors will make a difference in the performance of your computer.
