Yes. Chain messages are made by spammers trying to collect as much emails as possible, by scaring people. If it makes you feel any better, according to chain messages, I should've died 18 times, been raped twice, been cut 10 times, be locked in a basement, have a lesbian ghost sleeping with me, and been thrown down the suer

No I delete them or throw them away. However i have friends who have become ill through worry of what will happen if they do not send them on. Some letters are really hateful and feel personal, it takes strength to destroy it.
Those ones that say something good will happen are just as bad.

The thing I hate most of all are the chain prayers -- send this prayer to ten people and you will get your blessings by ten past ten tonight-- drives me nuts the way people believe in them even though they never work. I always delete the pathetic things.

i believe some pple give in cos if they dont something "bad" will happen to them, like losing a loved one
for me its just someones method of spreading his chain letter

i totally agree with you. i had a friend who did this to me on very regular occasions. it got so bad i had to ask her to stop. she didnt so i blocked her from contacting me.
