When too many girls get together there is almost always going to be friction. Sometimes they get emotional and explode for no reason. Without some testoterone with a cool head around she can set the other emotional time bombs off and start a really nasty confrontation. Men don't ussually have these issues as they just ignore people they don't like. Anyway, this is a bunch of generalities and doesn't always apply. girls and guys are VERY different.
girls can be VERY petty and catty with each other. there is, for some reason, insane amounts of competition when it comes to females.
there is a book about teen cliques and i think it is called something like "the queen bee syndrome"...something like that. it examines the queen bee mentality that many girls deal with in their formative years.

it is a shame, but the queen bee mentality is ever increasing in strength, which makes it ever more difficult for our girls to survive their school years with a healthy slef-esteem and positive outlook on life.

i don't know WHY this happens, but it does and it is really sad. the good thing, is that, many women outgrow this once they mature into their 20s-30s. at least to an extent. there is always a sense of competition, however, it becomes less obvious and more controlled.

i think because girls want to be there own self and feel threatened when some one try's to step in so they fight. It also depends on who they are fighting with. this one i just said is to a sister or something but if its a girl in school or something they they do it to feel the power of people. because if they fight and win for a minute they have every ones attention and that's power.

When a girl isn't in a good mood, they dont want to be messed with. But when someone pushes their buttons they react extremely rudely or fiesty or catty. so they backstab them by getting dirt on them and spreading it around, or the quicker one is fighting them! Half of it is revenge for doing something that they that was so low, but they go and do it 2x lower. Hope I helped.

I don't get into the whole catfight thing usually, because I have great friends and hang out with alot of guys for this reason. But in the past girls have pushed my buttons, and I don't let them get away with it. I'm usually contemplacent but when you talk about me, my boyfriend, my friends, or other things I value, THINK AGAIN.
