Well depends on the reason why you want to break the startup password on a bios hope you have a valid reason for doing this. Such as that you forgot your bios password on YOUR computer. Their are many ways to do this resetting your CMOS, using a program to change it, vendor code, etc...
Some sites that will help you:
Best Resource:

* Read how it works and the readme file. You probably want the the Windows 2000/ME/XP one that is .zip
http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/reference/biosp.htm
*List of some codes for different bios.
* It will lock you out after 3 attempts usually just restart and enter 3 more. Keep doing this until you find the correct one.

It depends on what motherboard you have. Look in the manual and find out what jumper you can use to reset the password, this will do the trick. If you do not feel comfortable than ask someone who knows the hardware to do this for you.
If you dont have the manual you can locate the jumpers on the motherboard, usually three pins, two at present setting with one open, turn off machine, pull plug, move jumper over and power up. You will need to move jumper back to original setting when you are done. The jumpers will say reset, pass, password, or pwd near them.
Good luck.

you can remove the cmos battery or simply remove the clear cmos switch found on most motherboards. This usually works by simply moveing the jumper to the correct setting for clear cmos and booting one time that way then put jumper back and boot up again. This should clear the boot up password and reset the cmos back to the factory settings
Hope this helps

You can't. A BIOS password is the most secure you could have. Your only option is to change the motherboard - which could be said is the same as switching computers. If it's access to the harddrive that you need, just take it out and get an external USB casing to connect it to your own computer.

Yes remove the cmos battery. Be careful to check the insertion mechanisms. Do not use any force. If hou have to, then you are doing it the wrong way. To be sure to complety reset the cmos memory connect the two poles where the battery goes using your hands. You won't get an electric shock.

That's pretty dangerous. Once set u can't change it unless u reset the bios i think. Check ur motherboard documentation. If not try removing the battery on the motherboard and replacing it again.
But i don't know if the password resets.

if it s yours, you can change from cmos setup.
if it s not, there s a way. just to remove battery for some seconds or make a bridge to empty that charge.
but you should know, these ways work for old motherboards.
new ones have some charge that you cant remove.
have fun
