There is no winner in a mess like this. every nation and all of the citizens of the involved combatants are losing every moment of the conflict.
This also includes all of the 'back room" players like Iran, Syria, and the US.

Israel has no other choice but to win FOR Lebanon.
Lebanon has been proved unwilling or incapable of ridding itself of the militant Hezbollah element. Until they are removed then both countries are under threat. An organization that targets civilians while hiding their munitions among civilians is by definition a terrorist organization.

No 'winners' Only losers - innocent people. Israel is the big loser though, they have made Hezbollah a very popular organisation in the Arab world, and in Lebanon. Hezbollah will win the next election in Lebanon in 3 years.

No-one wins in war !
I served in Beirut, Lebanon in 82/83 as a Marine. That country is no different or better off now than it was then. Too many religions and groups that just refuse to respect one another and let each other exist.
Getting to be that way everywhere - unfortunatly.

Lebanon is not in the fighting! Isreal is fighting Hezbullah, A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION . Even the U.N. says they are TERRORIST.
This has been an on / off conflict since the 80's .
Hezbullah hides in with the people , fires it's rockets into Isreal and then screams for help when Isreal fights back .
Every Hezbullah killed is a civilian and they point out the "civilian " casualties , makes great propaganda .

Hezbollah does a song and dance routine "I promise to protect you and the country,I will get rid of all israeli/us 'terrorism' and domination by blowing up israeli/us people".
I'm sure they had a condi of their own who said "it's time for a new usa!" "it's time for a new israel!"
Bush & co,and Israel have almost exactly the same song and dance routine - word for word exactly the same "I promise to protect you and our country from middle eastern 'terrorism' by killing a whole tonne of people [the terrorist's full time job!] by doing so I will get rid of all middle eastern 'terrorism".
That's the great promise to you and that's a nice thing to fall for,I mean believe in.
I think the lebanese were duped in the same way,don't feel bad at least you still have your legs and arms.
Lucky for you,the US has such a ginormous miltary force that
your terror unit has succeeded all the other terror units.
Though the actual getting rid of terrorism part has not yet been adressed.So in that sense noone has won.
I will tell you however who has lost,the little girls lying dead in the fields of lebanon they have lost,their mothers and fathers they lost,some person's grandfather,uncle,brother,sister they lost,some guy carrying water supplies he lost,the people buried under the rubble of twin towers they lost,some random woman on a bus she lost.
