I conducted research on this particular topic and others related to sleep and I will surely assure you that it is not possible. In addition, sleep is much more complex than what these uneducated, obnoxious and to some extent impulsive children would anticipate. Most people will spend one third of their life asleep. Sleep is a rather complex mechanism that includes different stages which alternate in cycles. I could write a book comparable in length to the Bible and would still fall short of explaining why people need sleep at all, or why we cannot manipulate the time we spend daily asleep more efficiently. In short, learning does not take place in any stage of sleep, be it short-wave sleep, long-wave, non-REM, or Rapid Eye Movement Sleep.

I'm not sure if you can actually learn things. Like if you put a tape in that was teaching you algebra, you wouldn't wake up the next morning knowing everything about algebra. But you probably would remember some sounds and things, and that can be considered learning. Just like getting a song stuck in your head, you might get things like x squared plus y squared stuck in your head. Or you might just have a crazy dream about whatever you were listening to.
