And what is with everyone and their mother either covered in tattoos or pierced with rings sticking through everwhere?
You see an attractive woman then you find out she has the 'tramp stamp' huge tattoo over her posterior region, VERY ugly fashion. and one I hasten to add not just fashionable among the British !!

ooh some people can be very tetchy about this!
Its a good question- I am british,on holiday ,abroad and you can always spot the brits, they are the ones wearing the football tops!!
sometimes the whole family, mum ,dad, kids in the team shirt (long shorts and trainers)-it looks hilarious!! they are usually unfit looking as well( fat bellys). how about that for advertising??
it sort of suggests that they have no individuality only this mob mentality, they may feel inadequate unless they belong to this tribe or maybe they want to make friends or scare the opposition teams .strangely, I bet pro. footballers would never dress their family in their team kit to go shopping ,for example.
sadly ,it maybe that the football shirt is the best thing they have to wear and certainly the most expensive.

Lol, that's a great question. I had a really girlie moment on a tube a few months ago. Two guys were sitting opposite me wearing identical shirts. I laughed and thought how silly they must feel having gone out for the day together wearing the same clothes. It was only when I shared this joke with my friend he pointed out they were football shirts and they were probably on their way to a match...

A bit of a generalisation there matey! Next you'll be saying we all speak like Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Or that there is a real pea souper in London every day.
I don't see any reason why they can't be fashion accessories. As far as I am aware the Clothes Police have not yet been sworn in and until they do we are free to wear whatever we like.
I personally do not wear mine for everyday wear but I would lay down my life to defend the right of someone to wear theirs. Well, maybe not my life. Maybe my season ticket.

I've never met a British person who wore a football shirt for everyday wear. Where did you collect your data?
Even if they did, if it is what they are comfortable in, that is all that matters.

I would love to know what country you are from so that I can generalise about your nationality - you really are a pathetic creep - I have never worn a football shirt in my life - but I will tell you one thing, these football shirts are really expensive and to get the proper wear out of them, some people have to wear them (with pride I might add) off the terraces. So before you go slagging us off get your facts right - you prick

I know... it's a cultural thing. Sorry.
It's the norm because it's more about swearing allegiance to the chosen team... it's like wearing your passion on your sleeve for everyone to see.
It's an indicator of how serious the game of football is... it's a statement.
sorry... sorry ...sorry. (representative of the bad fashion guide)
