Well i would ask why myself, my mum last year reported her neighbour who lived alone had died but there was 1 dog, 1 cat and two birds in the house.

The RSCPA did not want to know, she phoned them back saying she had taken the dog to a sanctary but they could not take the cat and the woman said it is xmas eve. let it out so it can go ferral. In the end my mum got very angery and the rspca arranged a vet to take the birds but my mum had to take them there also mum manged to rehome the cat

Sorry but this is totally true

I think that he should have told you that you were very kind, not say why! It is because of people like him that animals are still suffering, so i would have to agree with you, he is a plonker!

Congratulations. Good on you for doing the right thing.

As for your Fiance your answer should be to him 'There is NEVER any excuse for any animal to suffer cruelty or neglect'.

If he doesn't understand that then yes he is a right plonker and a few other names I could think of as well.

I presume he wasn't really asking what the problem was and was in fact asking 'what did you do that for?'. If you saw an animal being treated badly it was obviously your natural inclination to do what you could to help the poor creature. Sadly, a good many humans don't have that kind of caring nature. Does beg the question of whether you two are soulmates though.......
