Will i reach america being in an helicopter for 12 hrs above india.

No,when earth rotates the atmosphere also moves with it so if u sit in a helicopter even for a day even then u will be above India.

I disagree with the other answers. Since this is a hypothetical questions, I would say the answer depends on your altitude. If you flew high ehough, you would be outside of earths atmosphere and in 12-hours, your could be 1/2 way around the earth. If your altitude was low, the you would stay above India.

I will like to comment on Dart Racer's answer. even if you go beyond the atmosphere you would not reach America. Before rising up the helicopter was on earth's surface and so had the same tangential velocity as earth's surface. As it went up no force was applied in the direction opposite to this motion hence this motion would continue to exist. according to Newton's First law of motion. One should remember that a force cannot produce any effect in a direction perpendicular to itself.

i agree with vichu_harryp... another way of thinking of it is if a fly was hovering in a train carridge. When the train pulled away from the station the fly would remain still in relation to the carridge and not the station.
