Good old Benjamin Franklin invented it. It's Daylight Savings Time, and the U.S. adopted it in the early 1900's. The idea is that most people don't get up very early, but they stay up later, so even though we have the same amount of daylight, more of it's when we are awake. I live in Indiana, and we've always been a little backward--we just adopted it this year, and I can't stand it--waiting until 10:00 at night to see the fireworks on the 4th of July drove me nuts, and all through the summer I have to go to bed when the sun is still out!

With the clock set one hour fast, Instead of "Sunset " at 7-8:00, Sunset is 8-9:00.

It's supposed to save electricity. Of course this means that we get up before Sunrise and use lights early AM, instead of late at night.

Actually, it gives politicians an extra hour of daylight to play golf.

Most states in the U.S. HAVE TO. It's daylight saving time and I think it sucks a big one.
They're even considering starting it earlier and ending it later, which sucks even more!
I wish they'd pick one time and stay there!
