The chances of her being pregnant if she had sex on her period are small, but it can happen, especially if her cycle is irregular. Typically you release an egg mid-month, during this time you are fertile. If the egg is not fertilized then you get your period two weeks later. In most people there is not an egg to fertilize during your period because that is when the body is shedding everything that helps an egg take hold. But not everyone is the same, some people have quicker cycles, and some people have a period even if they are pregnant. Your friend should buy a home pregnancy test, but if this just happened it won't be accurate. Have her wait a couple more weeks, then take the test. And tell her to use condoms from now on. In addition to getting pregnant, she could get some nasty disease!

Their Is A chance That She Could Be Or Get Pregnant From Having Sex On Your Period. Just Because She Was On Her Fourth Day And Still Bleeding Doesn't Mean anything. If Your Are A Good Friend To Her Then Maybe If You Go The The Doctor's With her, She Might Change Her Mind About Going. Talk To Your Friend About This.

The chances of her being pregnant are almost impossible, as mentioned before the period is the bodies way of dispelling a non fetilized egg and lining. The egg needs to attach to the lining, when the lining is secure and fertile, this normally happens on day 14 of a 28 day cycle. If your friend has a regular 28 day cycle, the danger days are day 12/13/14/15, having sex dueing your period won't cause a pregnancy, there is nothing for the egg to attach to. Even if the sperm stays in the body for the 2-3 days that would make it possible to fall pregnant, it still would make it only day 7 for her, so it would be unlikely that this would happen, don't worry, but do a test in 3 weeks just to make her feel better. If she doesn't want a baby, tell her to be more careful.

It is less likely I think, but perfectly possible to get pregnant during your period, so you should keep on telling her to go to the doctor or take a pregnancy kit test. If she had unsafe sex she also needs to go to the GUM Clinic to get herself checked out for possible STIs.

I hope all is OK for her in the end, but burying her head in the sand will do no good - she needs to get this over and done with so she knows what to do next.

Good luck and you seem like a really good friend to her - well done you!

She could definately still be pregnant. Especially if she is still in High School or younger. During adolescence eggs are released sporadically until your body gets the hang of the menstrual cycle. Sorry to disappoint ya...she needs a home pregnancy test followed by a trip to the gynocologist...and a long talk with her doctor about birth control. Tell her tough luck but if she's brave enough to risk becoming a mother then she's brave enough to march her bad little butt to the doctors office.

The likely-hood of being pregnant on the Fourth Day of ur period, is one of the lowest likely-hoods I know. I speak from past experience on this problem with ex-girlfriends I have had. I know what she must be going through.......... and know that she is probably fretting about and with her not knowing a 100% answer yet...... she's probably very scared. Tell her not to worry, just to take a pregnancy test for the full clear. Everything will be fine.

well she should be more careful in the future. Not only to protect herself against unwanted pregnancy but against std's and aids. If she has missed her period tell her to take a pregnancy test. It is possible to get pregnant at any time of the month but it's not as likely. Most women ovulate around 14 days after the first day of their period.

Tell her to do a test to make sure, but the chances are really small that she could be pregnant.. also.. tell her not to have sex again until she actually knows a little about it.

If she didn't use protection then she can be pregnant.

Has she missed a period yet? If so then she should go to the docs ASAP or get a home test.

Chances are slim but still possible
