Data-loss, you will lose your files without extra effort to retrieve them.
The computer will not start up - you will need to replace the HD to get it working again, and reinstall.
There is a very tiny chance it could cause problems in other components, i.e. break them. This is true with any broken component in a computer - as the electrical signals are interconnected, in rare cases when 1 part break continuing to use it in the computer may break other parts as well, although unlikely.

Simple, your operating system and all data is lost. Your HDD stores the life blood of your system.

simply all the data store in your compure wel be lost. it can not retribe again. and you must consult in your bois if data HDD is active in your computer some bod is not active. first check the bios and to cofiguer. if did n ot wrk agian restore the system...goto the dos command..find the sytem restore..

So, you lose all the "stuff" you had on the HDD.
You can find someone to recover the data, but some will be lost. All the programs that you installed will have to be reinstalled, the updates that you got AFTER that installation will have to be reinstalled, personal data (emails that you saved will be lost)... unless you back up your data on CD's..... :)
