why is the firewall blocking me from getting internet access to my computer?

Dont use extra firewall. Enhance the features of windows firewall. Windows has excellent security features then why to use other firewall.

Read carfully the help
In the Zone Alarm setting option set all to medium
After this zone alarm ask you for every program that you permit or no to go on the web establish a connection
You can access this list and you can add or remove items
When the list look like you want you can set all to high
But I dont remember the exact step

Give your browser permission to use internet.
Rightclick the ZoneAlarm system tray icon, 'Restore ~~~ Control Center', click 'Program Control', click the tab 'Programs'.
Your browser or some Windows component may be listed there with a red cross. Give it a green thingie (i don't know the English name for it).
Alternatively, you can download a better browser:

After running, ZoneAlarm should ask if it's ok that opera.exe uses internet. Then choose 'Yes (always)'.

Make sure you are allowing iexplore.exe to connect to the world wide web. Or if you are using Mozilla Firefox, allow firefox.exe to connect to the internet. Depending on wether or not you are on a home network might also be affecting you internet access. If you are on a home network, you need to put the home network into your trusted networks.

Make sure your connection is being allowed by zonelabs go into program tabs and make sure it is ticked as being allowed for access. My broadband connection is listed in the program tabs and I have allowed it in there. Same as other programs I use on the net.

the two certainly one of them are spectacular. Ive used the two and love em the two. I certainly have residing house windows vista and back whilst zonealarm wasnt compatiable with vista I used kaspersky which I got here to love and nevertheless use even nevertheless za is vista waiting. i take advantage of Kaspersky 2009. like it.
