The menses (menstrual period) is not important here. I would have to guess that one of the partners is not fertile. However, it could be timing and other factors...men wearing tight-fitting underwear reduces sperm count...prolonged hot baths also decrease sperm count. In Asia, a drug made from the angelica plant is used very successfully to reduce both menstrual discomfort but also acts as an enhancement to pregnancy. It is less expensive for a sperm count for men than fertility tests for women, however most men are reluctant to do this as they feel less manly....The abdominal pain is common, as the womb prepares itself for the attachment of the egg, and a way to think of this is like a sunburn where the old skin (and burned skins) is peeling off. A method that was used in Canada was the use of steroids and antihistamines as the theory was that the womb was rejecting the egg but it met with only mediocre results. I strongly suggest finding a local physician and following his/her advice, and having a good pelvic exam at the same time.

If you have not been going to the doctor for your yearly check ups you need to go ASAP. It could be a cyst or cancer. Neither one is something you want to ignore. If you have been going and your yearly have been fine i would call the doctor's office and just ask the nurse that answers the phone and she can say weather you need to see the doctor right away or not. I would not trust anything you find on a web site for something as serious as this. Best of luck to you.

It could be any number of things: a cyst, endometriosis, scar tissue in your fallopian tubes, or a STD. Visit your doctor to pinpoint the cause. Good luck.
