If your teacher has provided a study sheet, you can bet that this is what is going to be on the exam. If no study guide is provided, go over the review questions in the book. More than likely these will be on the exam.

Learn how to read efficiently. You don't have to read word for word. First read the headings contained throughout the chapter, this will give you an understanding about what the chapter is about. Then in each section read through quickly.

The night before the exam always go over any notes or study sheets that you might have. I found that using index cards to write down key facts on, work real well because you can carry them with you to study up until the exact time of the exam.

Main thing, keep yourself calm. Worrying and fretting will only cause you to black out what you have studied.

The best time to begin studying for exams is on the first day of the semester. Just don't go to sleep until you understand "today's" work. That's not as hard as it sounds. Everything you will learn in class tomorrow builds on what you were taught today. When exams come around, you will be watching TV while your classmates are sweating bullets and trying to stay up all night, because you'll just need a quick review.

One thing I say to all new students at the uni where I mentor, is DON'T PANIC!

When you study for an exam, you should already know some of your topics, so identify your known problem areas.

Next, check over all notes you have and order them.

Look at it a week before the exam in detail. Look at it three days before in detail, though things should be clearer this time. Look at it one day before briefly and you should remember more this time. Look at it just before you exam very briefly.

Remember to go to the toilet beforehand, take deep breaths if you do panic and always bring more than one pen. Preferably three.

In order to get good marks, you have to have God given abilities to do so. A retarded person can study from now till the last day, and he will still NEVER get good marks. If you do have the ability, work hard in your studies, and you will get good grades.
