The Bill is set in London as well as Eastenders, both Corrie and Where the Heart is are "Up North"! THe actors are well practiced at the various accents, culture and characteristics of the relevant region.

cos eastenders and the Bill are set in london, thus everyone from both those soaps has a London accent.
Everyone from corrie has a manchester accent and Where The Heart Is, is set up North as well. Thats the only logical explanation

I know, I've noticed that - Its funny, some of the actors leave these soaps because they don't want to get type cast, and then they go to another long running drama and the same thing happens - perhaps when then first leave the soaps, they have big ideas about making it big, but then once the money starts running out, they take any old rubbish

and people from the bill end up in eastenders etc etc, its called acting -they aren't real people they go and do a job then move onto a new job...
maybe if new actors/actresses appeared we wouldn't have all these recycled ones

Because they all want to "take their careers to a whole new level". Always laugh my socks off when I hear that phrase because you're right - they all end up in The Bill eventually ha ha ;-)

usually because the producers of these shows flit from one to the other. They tend to take their writers with them and a lot of the time they have actors they want to work with again
