I recently saw a CNN report of Denny Klein and his Ford Escort going 100 miles on 4 ounces of water. He converted water to HHO and powered a car with this...the by product being water. The story claimed it was Nuclear Reactor energy with the stability of water.
Mr. Klein is off to Washington to cut a deal for fueling military vehicles...I'm kind of wondering why we don't use this for cars? I have friends that have rigged their own vehicles to run on Cooking oil...Mr. Klein rigged his own car to run this "nuclear" system...I think he should teach unemployed mechanics to rig other cars in the same manner and they can self-employ their services doing everyone's cars...

So my questions are, why aren't we exploiting this technology and why are scientists saying that "we" aren't ready for this yet? i don't know about you, but I'm ready to put the thieves at OPEC out of business.

it would be nice to see a more rapid shift toward such a clean source of energy. Unfortunately it will take time. Just some aspects is the logistics of creating the supply stations and transport. Let alone moving from the trading of fossil fuels and creating a new market for the trading of hydrogen. I stumbled on an interesting article which goes into more depth, which you may find interesting/demoralising.

Concerning oil the truth is there is enough petroleum at the moment, its the supply routes (pipelines, tankers etc..) which are insufficient to meet demand, causing a lag in the delivery, thus driving pricies up, (along with the current political tensions in the world).

I personally would love to own a water powered car....but what would the people living in desert regions think of this?

This sounds like an urban legend. The electricity to split the water must come from somewhere. The U.S. gets most of its electricity from coals which polutes more than gasoline does. So the "hydrogen echonomy" rates to be a setback for the environment.

Face the facts - it's going to get more expensive to drive cars. Unless some miracolous new technology gets invented, we will have to drive less, and in smaller cars.

The reason why cars arent run on cooking oil is pollitics and money. The reason we dont use hydrogen in cars is because you have to seperate the hydrogen from the water which uses a lot more energy to do than to run the car itself, and not just that......imagine what a multicar pile up would look like on a motorway.......a big smoking hole

i agree w/you. however, since the oil business makes the world go round..that is not likely to happen.
we don't just drill for gasoline, petroleum products are used in a CRAP load of stuff like plastic products, tires, etc.

there will always be a need for oil. if we switch from gasoline to alternative fuels..yes the demand will go down greatly..but not enough to put anyone out of business!

electricity can also be produced by....WATER. that's why we build dams.(think Hoover Dam)...anyways, so this car sounds plausible.
