Lance Bass of the group *NSYNC revealed last week that we was gay. He didn't tell his secret because he felt it would destroy the group's popularity. After all, *NSYNC is a successful boy band. The other band members support Lance's decision to come out the closet. He is currently dating Reicher from the Amazing Race. I feel that a person should not be judged because of his/her race, religion, or sexual orientation. These celebrities have rights, too. If they want their privacy, I feel they have every right to it. Gays and lesbians should not be discriminated against or defamed by anybody. Gays and lesbians also want the right to raise children. They want to be treated like equals. It doesn't matter if you're straight or gay. We all have to learn to live together.

Before I had read the details, I already knew what I was going to say. But then I read the details, and I totally agree with you. People need to learn that just because a person is gay doesn't not make them human beings too. Love is love.
I idol a singer for their singing and imagination, not sexual orientation.
I idol actors/actresses for their acting and strong character, not sexual orientation. It doesn't matter to me if a person is gay or not, it's private.

It seems that all of the actors I enjoy watching are gay lol! I don't mind one bit and I'm so glad that Lance decided to come out and stand up for what he believes. Personally anyone who didn't know before this was on another planet I think.

Our orientation is a private thing for the most part and should not be ridiculed or condemned by un thinking, moronic people who feel they have the right to comment. Gays and Lesbians are equals sweetie, that is a God given right.

Anyone who says differently has a real problem with homophobia and should stay away from questions like this or any others.

I agree with you whole heartedly! Kudos!!!

I can't say it would bother me that much...is it really that big a deal that Lance came out anyway? There was always a feeling that at least one or two of those guys were gay. Not that it's wrong, I'm all for equal rights.

I'm just saying...there's a Chris Rock joke about knowing guys were gay from the start..."You were playing ball, he was jumping rope." And NSYNC had that going on.

Celebrities exist outside of the real world - they have nothing to do with real life, and when you start thinking about them as people they stop being gods. The shock some people feel is not because the person is gay, but because the celebrity is just a person like them, hence it can be an uncomfortable realisation.

You are absolutely right. But, you have to understand, there are some real ignorant people out there who do not like the fact that their favorite singer/actor is gay. They would turn their backs on them and never look at them the same way again.
So, I am happy that Lance came out of te closet, I am glad that his former bandmates supported him and i am glad that he has gotten this off his chest.

I wish all gay celebrities, sports figures, politicians, etc. would come out. If the world sees just how many gay people there are, and how many of their favorite people and friends are gay they might just give up all the anti-gay posturing and rhetoric.

I think that it's not our business he knows more than we know.
And we dont care about celebreties personalties or sexual orientations because we just like what they do such as singing dancing acting and the rest doesnt matter because we dont make relationships with them.

I suppose your own personal beliefs about homosexuality determine how would feel. Either you think being gay is a huge sin or it's worng or it isn't a bad thing for you.
Personally I would say they are very brave and respect them even more for their courage.

Who cares? In today's society, being gay shouldn't be a big deal. Homosexuality is around to stay...and as they say on Seinfeld: "Not that there's anything is wrong with that".
