If you love Liverpool you'd stop whining, you sound like one of those people who act like a so-called fan yet you want to stop Liverpool's progress by denying them a massive fan base and revenue from shirt sales and merchandise. How do you think we can afford decent players? Money doesn't grow on trees. You should be thankful that Liverpool have one of the biggest followings in the world, this is what makes them so great. I don't see how you can call yourself a fan when you haven't got a clue about how the footballing world works. Yes, I am a fan. No, I don't live in Liverpool and yes, I have been to plenty of games.

There such a love-able team. People all over the world see them play once, and they become life supporters. To be true supporter, you don't have to go to every match. For most fans that's hard as they live all over the world, and yet despite the distance, still choose to support Liverpool. I think it's great that a team has supporters all over the world, and the best thing is they choose to support the mighty REDS and not some bunch of pretenders like ManU or Chelsea

im a liverpool supporter and yes i do not live in liverpool purely because i prefer it where i live, however i reglarly go to anfield, just because i dont live in liverpool it doesnt make me any less of a supporter.
Each person is intitled to support any team they like and just because they dont visit sed ground doesnt make them any less of a supporter, my husband is a chelsea fan and he has never been purely cos he cant afford to,
Surely it is an honour to liverpool to have such a wide variety of supporters from all over the world. Not everyone can afford to follow their team to every match.

That logic is applicable to Manchester United as well,
it seems that a team will attract supporters based upon performance rather than the individuals proximity to the team, sad sheep like behaviour showing a marked lack of anything resembling sense but then thats football full stop ...
If you've not yet guessed I do NOT like feetball thing in any way just Glad that World Cup rubbish is done for another four years, with any luck it will be a game of the past by then ...;-) ...

I am from Bolton and have been a Liverpool fan for 30 years. I've been to Anfield many times and followed them up and down the country.
What does it matter that I wasn't born in Liverpool and I don't live in Liverpool.
Take Snooker, my favourite snooker player of all time is Alex Higgins. But I shouldn't like Alex Higgins because he's Irish. I live in Bolton so my favourite snooker player has to be Tony Knowles. Utter rubbish, I like Alex Higgins not Tony Knowles.
No matter what sport it is, your personal preference is based on what you like, not where you come from.

1: most liverpool fans are irish, and the irish mostly went to liverpool during the depression in ireland so thats one reason.
2: liverpool was a cool team!! but, even though im a liverpool fan myself, they been shite and have been making shite desisions for the past 2-3 years
3: liverpool was the catholic team and man u was the prods team so theres is yet another reason

That is not true. You don't have to live in the county/city/country you support, can`t believe you made that statement. Have you not heard of moving. As most people have answered you are mistakenly directing that comment to the wrong team. As for fans not going to the match, do you not realise that all us lfc fans would love to go to games, my family and me have been fortune enough to go to a number of games including champions league games. Do you not realise that the main reason some fans don't go to games is because there are so many supporters they couldn't all possibly fit into the ground. How on earth do you expect millions of fans fit into their ground. That applies for alot of clubs. Watch what your saying next time and get your facts right.

It's true of any successful side. Why is it, after years they suddenly get 15-20,000 extra fans who appear out the woodwork. Those same fans have never been to a game involving that side in their lives and snap up season tickets, charged by the clubs at ridiculous prices so the ordinary fan can no longer afford to keep theirs on.
