A good point I suppose if you really believe the 'hype and BS' flying around.
I personally don't think they have 'double standard' I think they are united on this and many other issues! Neither want an end to any blood shed until Hezbollah have been pushed out of the way!
I also do not believe that any aircraft could just land anywhere in the UK without very 'high sanction'
I worked in a nuclear plant and any plane from any where passenger or military coming too close would have been shot down, so it was all agreed some where along the line!
The main requirement of our two governments is to get rid of "terrorists", whatever it takes!
They can explain to we mortals later if they really have to!
But nice try , You didn't really expect a 'reasonable' answer did you??

How sad to see how many answerers are misinformed about the basics of the situation.
Please ,please read about the details of what has happened and is happening. Opinions based only on opinions ,or assumptions are just a waste of time. Not to mention infuriating !
On the question: it does seem cynical to claim to want to halt suffering whilst supplying the means of perpetuating it . But ,apart from the politics of trying to keep genuine peace lovers at bay with double talk, the UK and US leaders are fairly clear in their belief that it is possible to eradicate their enemies with bombs. Of course if you eradicate a whole people you can do this , but if genocide is not part of the plan ,you need to find a more realistic way forward.
Blair really should know better, with the UK's experience in Northern Ireland . As we know ,one man's terrorist, is another man's freedom fighter. We need to respect all the views involved ,and find a way to let those views be heard and accommodated toa fair degree. Then ,once the movements have a legitimate means of power an expression, one can lay down the definition of what is morally acceptable, and treat people for their individual acts .In N.Ireland the IRA was given a route into power sharing ,and then those who refused to lay down arms were treated as criminals. If the UK government had bombed Catholic Belfast instead ,we'd still have bombs going off in London, and American Irish sending arms to the 'terrorists', who's activities would have been legitimised.
Finally :
Is bombing Lebanese civilians more acceptable than bombing Israeli civilians ? Not to me.

Has any one cared to ask : why the Lebanese resistance ( Hezbullah) fired rockets against Israel? Answer : Because Israel occupied Arab lands by killing thousands of Arabs and holding other thousands as prisoners.Bush and Blair have double standard because 1) Bush believes in the end of time's theology which considers non Jews and Christians as Gentiles of lower class that should be eradicated from the face of earth in a war called Armageddon.2) Both want the votes of the strong Jewish lobby for their parties.3) Blair wants Bush to be happy.

" would it not be more productive if both israel and lebenon along with the help of blair and bush and maybe others "
What others? Other Arab states? They are doing NOTHING to help Lebenon, they are just sitting and stirring up hatred for the Jews and America, instead of stepping in and calling for Hezbollah to disarm. The other states (syria & Iran) are supplying Hezbollah weapons to kill Israeli Civilians. The Lebonese are too weak to do anything constructive against Hezbollah in their country, as the Syrians are so heavily involved in controlling the Lebonese government.

I agree that Bush Blair and Israel are terrorists there must be something to gain by allowing this. Its amazing that Blair is now saying he is shocked at the bombing in lebanon he wasnt shocked at the bombing in Iraq so why should this be any different. its amazing how many people believe in the rulers of this world today they are all corrupt. I guess they have to make the public think that they care when in fact they just dont give a damn whats more amazing is that the majority of the public believe them even when its blatantly obvious that they are lying to suit thier own needs.

We need to be careful who we think are terrorists. Hezbollah is in most people eyes a terrorist group. Their indiscriminate killing of Israelis is wrong but the Israelis are just as bad. If Hezbollah are terrorists then so are the Israelis. In other words Bush and Blair need to treat both sides as aggressors or terrorists.

How about Israel has been getting shot by rockets for the last DECADE. Children, women, everyone. Has the UN been outraged at ANY of that? No. So shut up about double standards, Israel deserves all double standards at this point.
