The sun routinely hits the earth with electromagnetic radiation and visible light we commonly know as daylight. It's estimated that about 500 million years in the future the sun may explode and then destroy the earth and the solar system as we know it. Solar storms and flares also occur, increasing the xray and gama radiation impacting the earth, including particles associated with coronal mass ejections. Bible prophecy seems to indicate that such a solar system destruction event might be sooner, but it doesn't really say when.

yes it will actually grow to a much larger size and throw the balance of the planets off, either sucking them into it or shooting them out of the solar system. Or it will just explode and will hit the earth in many pieces, should happen some time next week, didn't you get the memo about that, I can have my people send it to your people, no need to worry if you don't get it, you wont be able to miss is. See you there,)

"Hit the earth"??? Well, not exactly. As the sun is dying, it will become a red giant and swallow up the inner planets as it burns itself out. It will then collapse to a white dwarf. It's probably not big enough to form a neutron star...and it's definitely not big enough to become a black hole.
But don't worry...none of that will happen for millions of years.

To be technically scientific, its is possible but highly unlikely. Everyone pretty much knows what should happen but this isnt concrete.
