Sounds like the pre-change. My mom went through it for a couple of years before the actual change happened. The only thing that helped her was herbal supplements. I can't remember what they were called, but I know that they are available at the vitamin shops in the malls, GNC for one.

The doctor can do a blood test to see if she has gone into the menopause.
I have been peri menopausal for quite a few years. And I still am. I had a hysterectomy at 32 and had 1 ovary removed.
Peri menopausal is when your body is just starting to go into the menopause. The doctor prescribed me HRT tablets before taking them I used to get hot flushes and got snappy.
I still get snappy but then I am a woman. lol
Hope this helps. :)

Most people know their own bodies far more than any doctor. Hot flashes and irritability are two of the most common indicators of perimenopause (pre-menopause) and can be a signal that the body is beginning to enter menopause.
I would suggest having your mother seek a second opinion.

She is going through her pre menopause which can start a year or two before she actually starts the menopause.
Tell her to try some herbal remedy's available at any chemists, which help her through this.
