Well, the biggest reason parents don't beat their kids anymore is probably because you'd have them taken away if you did.. just a though..
I don't think you have to smack kids to keep them from doing "retarded" things.. you just have to be a parent that disciplines.. parents are trying to be their kids' friends nowadays.. and because of that.. they don't want to take away the tv, phone, toys and cars.. or send them to their room, or ground them from friends..

Beating children is barbaric. YOu have a lot of growing up to do before even considering being a parent. All violence does is teach that it's OK to hurt others.
And judging how other people "look" or using "retarded" as a slur is hardly the sign of a mature and decent person.

It's called" tough love", if you spank the child and tell them what they done that was wrong and the spanking is for disciplinary. That will teach the child that doing wrong has punishments that hurt. Adults get disciplined by fines, tickets, and imprisonment. That is like "time out" only makes things worst instead of correcting the problem. If we as a society go back to our roots and spank a child for wrong doings and explain why, then there will be more honesty, respect, and positivity because they know the consequences are painful.

I can understand a spanken but not too early then the child thinks its alright to be hit and hit others. When they get older it is definently allowed to be spanked but not to be beatdown, there is a difference people. I was spanked and I know that I deserved it every time! LOL but you cant slap a kid on their face or puch and kick them and stuff, no THAT is abuse.

i think a parent should raise there child to be prepared for life, not spoiled, not greedy, not hitting people,my mom used a small switch from a bush in our yard, didn't hurt any of us seven kids.but we always knew that switch was bad news,we wanted no part of it,i used the same on my kids, none of us ever got in jail, never have been bad people, now days the law says you can't spank those brats,i would have been in jail

i think they need to come back to the old ways, when my mom and dad said something to us we knew what to do or else.but cys had to stick in and tell parents how to raise their kids.i guess parents dont have kids anymore, the government has them.that is why reform schools are filled up,because the parents hands are tied.

Fear and those dumba** people who invented "time-out"!! Parents have the right to make their children listen and do what they say and if it has to come to beating that a**, so be it!
