Charlotte North Carolina ?
well ... obviously people there don't have that southern hospitality ...
and .. think about this ... meeting someone on net is not much of an introduction ... you don't know much about them till you truly check them out ,,,
take care and best wishes

The problem with anything online is that you don't know the person so your cautious. We live in a society where people are so open about themselves and so trusting of everyone online that it's pretty scary. Your doing the right thing by being picky and no matter how nice you think they are, look up their references and call them. Protect yourself and good luck.

Because when you are online talking to a potential roomie, you really see the twitches and nervous tics happening. So, you decide to let them move in, only to realize they have been somewhat hygenically challenged and are odor-enhanced. In other words, they are the stinky unwashed. You can't tell that about a person online...If they have a Pigpen icon, it MIGHT be a clue!

You can't easily trust anyone these days. Just ask someone you know to be your roommate or ask them to find you one. If you already got one, pay more attention to your own security, example, never forget to lock your room etc.

I would only roomate with someone that I already knew well. Be careful about rooming with friends though, you might end up getting sick of each other and no longer be friends.
