Naw, think of smurfs like bees...there's only one queen. It's the larvae that was fed the 'special' food or the only actual fertilized egg or whatnot. All the rest of the smurfs are like the drone bees. But vanity smurf is gay no matter how you look at it.

Just because there is one girl doesn't mean they are gay!
They are aimed at young children, so all sexual connotations are removed. The only thing that happens is innocent stuff like that all the smurf like the girl (except papa smurf of course, that would be wrong).
