I was at Ikea and bought a couple yards of fabric that I HAD to have because it matched my bedding set perfectly. I got home and realized I don't really have any use for fabric! I already know that I could make pillows with it, and I got one idea that I could cover a picture frame with it. Any other suggestions?

The only thing is just remember I don't have much room as my dorm is REALLY small. For example, I saw someone using fabric to cover a sofa, and I obviously can't do that because I'm not going to have a sofa in there. I also don't really want to use it to hang from the ceiling in any way. Thanks!

I forgot to add I'm not that crafty either.. I know, I probably should be if I'm asking for a project like this but I can do simple things. Thanks alot for the suggestions!

Do you have a night stand? Or an end table?

I was thinking of a table cloth or cover one or two chairs.
It would look great because it matches your bedding!

How about using it on your walls or even your closet doors? You can purchase very inexpensive liquid starch at the drug or discount stores for about 99 cents. Dip the fabric in the starch until it is saturated and adhere it to the wall. If the fabric is not too heavy, it will stick to the wall until you vacate the dorm room and you simply peel off the fabric without damage to the wall or fabric. Want to use the fabric again? Throw it in the washer. We've used this technique for military families who cannot paint or wallpaper.

You can also use the fabric as a throw, runners, over inexpensive cork tiles for a bulletin board, on a tension rod as draperies or a cover for messy bookshelves (fold over a 2 inch hem, glue and insert the rod.)

You can staple it over a padded piece of plywood, use some thumb tacks to attach strips of matching ribbon in a lattice pattern over that, and hang it and use it as a message board, tuck photos under the pieces of ribbon, etc.
Or, you can cut it in half, hem it without sewing by using fusible webbing, and buy some metal clips and hang it on your window as a valance. If there's no drapery rod, check out the wire tension kits that you can buy-I think Alloy or Delia's sells them.

Hi Chokingmeup...(that's a very unusual yahoo ID name...it's cool i like it)
Oh yeah...your fabric stuff.
Hmmm...

Make a dust cover for your printer or fax machine.

Make book covers for your text books.

Cut it into strips and make a fabric wallpaper border along the ceiling.

Use it to cover a cork board for keeping notes and messages.

Good luck!

If you like you can use it as a throw rug. I am not sure what it is called, but there is a paste type paint that you can apply to prevent slippage. Check you local hardware store. Prior to applying paste to it you may want to attach a painter's tarp to the rear in case you use it later for a different purpose and to add durability.
