Bleach is appropriate for cleaning cages with a 30 to 1 solution- 30 parts water, one part bleach. Vinegar and water solution will help neutralize odors (if that's an issue). Food dishes and water bottles can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Make sure the cage is completely dry before putting the Chin back in it, or adding bedding.
Do not bleach any wood. that should just be replaced. here's a great site. http://www.peteducation.com/index.cfm?cls=18

I own guinea pigs. I use a white vinegar and water mix. About 3 to 1 ratio water to vinegar. Mix in a spray bottle, then mist bottom of cage and wipe down with paper towels.
