Carbon dioxide is heavier than oxygen
Oxygen exists in the atmosphere as a diatomic molecule- O2.
the weight of each oxygen is 16 amu, so 16x2=32 amu
Carbon Dioxide is CO2, carbon is 12 amu, plus 16 amu for each oxygen, so 16+16+12=44 amu
since 44>32, carbon dioxide weighs 38% more per molecule or per unit volume at equal conditions.

Carbon dioxide, CO2 must be heavier than oxygen, O2, because it has that extra carbon atom. Carbon weighs 12, each oxygen weighs 16, so a carbon dioxide molecule is 44 atomic mass units and an oxygen molecule is 32 amu's.

Carbon dioxide is heavier.
Oxygen, in the air is O2.
This has a weight per molecule of 32. This is 2 (the number of atoms) times 16 (the wieght 'atomic mass' of each atom of Oxygen)
Carbon Dioxide is CO2, which has a wieght of 44, as it is 12 (one carbon atom) plus 32 (two Oxygen atoms).
This will refer to them under normal conditions - at which, equal amounts of molecules take equal space.
So, the heavier each molecule, the heavier the gas in total.
As above, CO2 is heavier per molecule than O2, so it is heavier in total.

Carbon dioxide is an atmospheric gas comprised of one carbon and two oxygen atoms. A very widely known chemical compound, it is frequently known by its formula CO2. In its solid state, it is commonly called dry ice.
Atmospheric carbon dioxide derives from multiple natural sources including volcanic outgassing, the combustion of organic matter, and the respiration processes of living aerobic organisms; man-made sources of carbon dioxide come mainly from the burning of various fossil fuels for power generation and transport use. It is also produced by various microorganisms from fermentation and cellular respiration. Plants utilize carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, using both the carbon and the oxygen to construct carbohydrates. In addition, plants also release oxygen to the atmosphere, which is subsequently used for respiration by heterotrophic organisms, forming a cycle. It is present in the Earth's atmosphere at a low concentration and acts as a greenhouse gas. It is a major component of the

Carbon Dioxide is heavier.
Carbon Dioxide is CO2, meaning 1 carbon Atom, and 2 Oxygen atoms.
Oxygen is O2, 2 oxygen atoms.
Obviously 2O + 1C > 2O

C3H8 + 5 O2 → 3 CO2 + 4 H2O 10.0 moles of O2 would react completely with 10.0 x (1/5) = 2.00 moles of C3H8, but there is more C3H8 present than that, so C3H8 is in excess and O2 is the limiting reactant. (2.00 mol C3H8) x (2012 kJ/mol) = 4024 kJ Make this answer negative if you wish to continue signaling that the reaction is exothermic.

carbon dioxide! carbon's mass is 12g and oxygen is 16g. carbon dioxide is made up of one carbon and two oxygen and therefore give a total mass of 44g while oxygen is made up of two molecules and will give atotal mass of 32g
